Expanding Vote by Mail

In the wake of COVID-19, it now is more important than ever that we protect our democracy. Voters need options to cast their ballots safely, including opportunities to vote from home. As we rise to meet the challenge COVID-19 presents to our election systems, we know that voting by mail will be a key part of making sure working people's voices are heard. The attached document provides a quick guide to understanding how voting by mail works, why we need it now and busts some of the myths that surround the process.

Discrimination and Harassment Policy
To support each other as equals in the workplace, a working knowledge of our Discrimination and Harassment Policy will help everyone navigate situations where we might feel unsure of what to do. Anytime you see or hear of a questionable behavior write it down. Gather witnesses. Openly watching and listening (and others knowing we are) is a strong deterrent. Bring those Tools!

Don't Be A Pirate!
Combating online theft and the sale of illegal CDs and DVDs Is nothing short of defending U.S. jobs and benefits. In the case of music, experts estimate that the digital theft of sound recordings costs the U.S. economy $12.5 billion in total output and costs U.S. workers 71,060 jobs. In the motion picture industry, piracy results in an estimated $5.5 billion in lost wages annually, and the loss of an estimated 141,030 jobs that would otherwise have been created.

The IATSE General Executive Board voted unanimously to extend its endorsement for the office of President of the United States to Former Vice President Joe Biden.
Joe Biden presents a stark and undeniable contrast from the current administration with regard to leadership and support for working people. We look forward to mobilizing the IATSE political program to elect candidates up and down the ballot this fall who will put workers first.
