?The Melcher-Dallas Public Library availability during the pandemic:?

While you can't go into the library, you are welcome to call the library (641-947-6700) and reserve your reading materials.? -Once Lori has them ready you may pick them up outside of the library...curbside or from the libraries patio area, which is located outside of the front door.??

Lori will be at the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays to assist you~Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.? Thursday hours are from noon to 4 p.m.

The reading materials may be returned to the library by dropping them off into the book drop located beside the front door of the library.

While this is not a perfect solution we are happy to have Lori and our patrons safer than if we were completely open.? Please continue to check back for more information regarding the library as time goes along.

Here is a tip that might help when selecting or checking availability of reading materials:? check out the following web site, were you will be able to see if we have a certain book, author, or availability!

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

****Check out Bridges Iowa's e-Library for books and magazines!****
?Bridges is excited to introduce magazine checkouts for patrons. The new feature has already had 432 magazines accessed by patrons in the first day it was available. The feature will be available for a year; staff will gauge patron interest and usage to determine if it should become a permanent feature of the E-Library.
Magazines are currently available on Bridges as a special collection through both the OverDrive and Libby app, and on library websites in the browser (via OverDrive Read). They have no wait lists or holds, do not count towards checkout limits, and provide readers the option to renew their selections. Readers can also download magazines on Libby for offline use.
This pilot was made possible through federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The collection budget was not affected by this program.

You need to select Melcher-Dallas Library, then enter your password.? Your password is your library card number!??
The library cards are FREE, so if you don't have a library card stop in today and obtain one!? Happy Reading!?

“My two favorite things in life are libraries and bicycles. They both move people forward without wasting anything. The perfect day: riding a bike to the library.”?
